2nd gen Apexi S-AFC Install
The most important thing about moding a rotary is to make sure there is enough fuel. The easiest and cheapest way to control it yourself is with one of these. You can get them for around $300usd. It may not be the only answer though. As you can't add more fuel if you don't have it (injectors alreaded maxed etc). These work best with bigger injectors and you can tune them in. I highly suggest you get a local tunner to do the tuning. Get use of a wide band o2 sensor. The air fuel gauges that attach to the stock o2 sensor (autometer etc) are basicly useless when it comes to tuning.
What you need: Apexi S-afc "+" philips screwdriver to remove door sill piece. 10mm socket and rachet to remove ecu cover. wire stripers / cutters or knife. Soldering iron, solder, and shink wrap prefered. Or pliers to crimp connections it comes with.
Start off by taking the pass. door sill plastic off. Then remove the small plastic peice in the corner. Now you can pull back the carpet. Undo the 2 bolts, and 2 nuts (10mm) holding down the metal plate. Underneith is your ECU

You can use a small screwdriver to get the plugs out of the ECU. Don't pull on the wires!.
Here is where they go.

Red: power Black: ground Brown : ground Green: RPM Yellow: Air flow meter output (ECU side) White: Air flow meter input (AFM side) Grey: TPS (throttle)
Here is the power and RPM wires connected (taped in). For some reason the power wire in the harness wouldn't hold solder, so I used the crimp. All the rest I soldered.

Here you can see the 2 grounds (taped in). They are 1CM apart as it says in the manual. Brown one closer to the ecu.

Here you can see the Grey TPS one (taped in), and the Air Flow meter wire cut.

Air flow meter wires soldered and shink wraped.

Done the wiring. Tape everything up with electical tape. And secure the wires down.

Now to mount it. It fits perfectly in the ash tray spot. I made a Alum brace to hold it in place. I had to remove the white plastic and light bulb for the cig lighter.

With a bit of trimming the removed ash tray lid still fits over top! I attached the "push" button to the console for a perfect finish.

what S-afc?? ;)

***update***
After swaping TBs last week (tb mod) and removing the vac rack etc. I had to adjust the TPS and idle as expected. What I noticed today was now my S-afc was only reading 86% at WOT. It was still trying to read the same TPS voltages that it was adjusted to before. so I needed to recalibrate it... after some screwing around.(with the car not running, but key to "ON" I went into the section where you choose it. (car type) with the arrow up. I changed it to ** for no reading and went back to the main screen. Then back to car type and changed it back to the correct setting arrow up. Went back to moniter and sure enough it hit 100% at about 3/4 throttle. A few more times pressing and it had recalibrated itself so 100% was 100%.
This is Just a note for S5 users. if you ever re-adjust your TPS. you might need to do this.
