Custom front mount intercooler
My $50 Starion core from ebay :) Got 2.5" pipes welded straight out the side, and brackets welded on.
It's going to sit right infront of the new rad. flush with the top of the oil cooler.
For piping I'm using dynomax U bends. You can pick these up for around $15usd each. you cut them up to different lenghs and angles. I used two 2.5" ones, and a small part of a 2" one for the piece into the turbo. Here are the pipes under construction. some of the pieces are just taped together for fitting. Soon to be welded together.
Once the pipes are welded. I'm going to paint them red, and get them beaded on the ends (lips) so they can't blow off as easy. I also need to get a Vac nipple on a pipe for the ASV. planing on removing the AWS, which is the 2nd line into the stock IC.
Here is a pic of the bead. It makes it much harder to blow the IC pipes off under boost.
